In the past decade there has been so many african americans killed by the police to many to count. but the three that stand out to me are the trayvon martin case, the sandra bland case, and the mike brown case. In the trayvon case he got killed because he was black boy walking through the neighborhood with a hoodie on. In the sandra bland case i believe that the officer abused his power in a very bad way just because she was smoking a cigarette in the privacy of her car he felt he could pull her out her car and arrest her over a traffic violation then they take her to jail and then she ends up hung in her cell with a trash bag on her head even though they don't put trash bags in cells. In the mike brown case he was shot at twelve times while he was far away from the cop and unarmed. I believe if we get rid of the stereotypes of that all african american are criminals and if we took away some of the power that the cops have we wouldn't have so many of these repulsive acts of hate crimes.
